High-availability failover for our queue & cache layer
The Redis instances behind check scheduling, alert delivery, background jobs, and caching now run in a Sentinel-managed high-availability cluster, so an automatic failover keeps monitoring and notifications going if a node fails.
New EU providers for monitoring check nodes: netcup & UpCloud
We added netcup (Germany) and UpCloud (Finland) as cloud providers hosting additional monitoring check nodes. Both are EU-based and are now listed as subprocessors.
EU fallback DNS resolver: Quad9 replaced by DNS.SB
We swapped our secondary fallback DNS resolver from Quad9 (Switzerland) to DNS.SB, operated by xTom GmbH in Germany, keeping the unfiltered, no-logging fallback fully within the EU. Our subprocessor list is updated accordingly.
EU/European fallback DNS resolvers added
We added two unfiltered EU/European public resolvers, DNS4EU (EU) and Quad9 (Swiss non-profit foundation), as fallbacks for resolving monitored hostnames, so a load spike on our primary resolvers can no longer cause false "DNS resolution failure" alerts. Both are now listed subprocessors.
More resilient DNS resolution for monitoring checks
We hardened the internal caching DNS resolvers our monitoring nodes use, so a brief resolver load spike no longer produces false "DNS resolution failure" alerts. No new providers, resolution stays on our own Hetzner infrastructure.
TCP port monitoring and port-only checks for service monitors
You can now monitor any TCP port directly, with an optional expected-banner match, and run SSH, SMTP, FTP and IMAP/POP monitors in a credential-less "port only" mode that just checks the port accepts connections.
Added Ubicloud for CI/CD runner compute
Our GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines now run on Ubicloud managed runners. We contract with Ubicloud B.V. (Netherlands, EU); its parent Ubicloud, Inc. is US-based, so we disclose this honestly and cover the transfer with SCCs.
Database moved to a high-availability Patroni cluster
The primary TimescaleDB database now runs on a dedicated Patroni high-availability cluster with automatic failover, replacing the previous single-node container setup. Backups are handled by the same managed stack.
Monitor ownership classes (managed / self-service) with scoped alert routing
Every monitor now carries an ownership class. Self-service monitors are fully customer-managed and alert the customer's recipients only. Organization-level integrations are no longer paged for them. Existing monitors stay managed with unchanged behavior.
Monitoring worker reliability rollout
All monitoring locations now run an updated worker release: maintenance windows reliably suppress DNSBL notifications, DNSBL and domain-expiry alerts reach all integration channels, and browser verification covers redirect-loop failures with screenshot evidence.
Unified check engine for service monitors
All service monitor types (ICMP, SMTP, SSH, FTP, IMAP/POP, DNS) now run on one hardened check engine: consistent security guards and timeout handling across protocols, more accurate response-time measurement, and a fix for long TXT/DKIM record comparisons.
Added fastmon for real user monitoring
We added fastmon labs UG (Germany) as a subprocessor for real user monitoring (RUM), collecting front-end performance telemetry from visitors of the Uptimeify web app.
Added Leadfeeder for website visitor analytics
We added Leadfeeder (Dealfront Group GmbH, Germany) as a subprocessor that identifies which companies visit our public website. It is consent-based and never runs inside the monitoring application.
Documentation moved to docs.uptimeify.io
Our documentation now lives on a dedicated docs.uptimeify.io subdomain, served from our EU application server. Old /docs links redirect automatically.
Monitoring checks now run over IPv6
Our monitoring locations can now reach your websites over IPv6 in addition to IPv4 (dual-stack). This improves reachability accuracy for IPv6-enabled sites and prevents false alerts caused by IPv6-only network paths.
Cloudflare removed from privacy policy
Cloudflare is not part of our infrastructure. We removed the outdated section from our privacy policy; error tracking is self-hosted (Bugsink) on Hetzner in Germany.
