RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) is the IETF-standard successor to the legacy WHOIS protocol. It returns the same registration data in a structured, machine-readable form over HTTPS, with a consistent format across registries. This tool resolves the authoritative RDAP server for the domain's TLD and queries it directly, so you get reliable registrar, date, nameserver and status information without the inconsistent free-text of old WHOIS.

Since GDPR came into force, most registries and registrars redact personal contact data for domains, especially individuals' names and addresses. RDAP reflects that: you'll usually see the registrar and any organisation-level contacts that are published, but personal registrant details are typically withheld. The registration dates, status flags and nameservers remain fully available.
