Uptimeify vs. Pingdom
Pingdom has been measuring from over 100 locations since 2007, and its root-cause analysis is among the best on the market. The catch: the vendor has been SolarWinds for years now, it sits in the US, and Real User Monitoring is a second product with its own invoice. Once you run monitoring for client sites and get asked about server location in every other pitch, both of those become your problem.
For agencies and MSPs
- Your data stays in Germany, with no US sub-processors
- One price, every feature: multi-step checks and reports included
- Your logo on status pages, dashboard and PDF reports
- An isolated login per client, unlimited, at no extra cost
- Full German and English, from the interface to support
For single sites with global traffic
- US legal entity, no committed data residency in Europe
- Synthetic and Real User Monitoring are billed as separate products
- No white-label, so your clients see someone else's brand
- No sub-accounts, every client lives in one shared account
- English only, in the product and in support

In short
Pingdom was built for the operator of one important website. One product, one account, one global node network, and one question: is my site up, and if not, why. For that job it has been a solid pick for almost twenty years, with few false alarms and failure analysis that holds up.
The moment you monitor other people's sites, three things change. Your clients ask where their data lives, and "the US" ends conversations in the public sector and in regulated industries. Your invoice turns unpredictable, because Real User Monitoring is billed separately by pageviews and transaction checks push you into higher tiers. And your work goes invisible, because someone else's brand sits on every report you send.
That is where Uptimeify comes in. German hosting as the default, a flat price with every feature, and a separate login plus your own branding for each client.

Where Uptimeify leads
Your data never leaves Europe. Uptimeify runs on core infrastructure in Frankfurt and Nuremberg, with check nodes in DE, FR, NL, UK and FI, and no US sub-processors. Pingdom belongs to SolarWinds, a US corporation, and offers no EU data residency as standard: which means the Cloud Act is in the room at every public-sector pitch before you get to talk about uptime.
One price, every feature, no second invoice. At Pingdom, synthetic monitoring and Real User Monitoring are two separate products: synthetic starts at 15 USD per month and sits at 50 USD on the Standard plan, RUM adds from 10 USD on top and scales with pageviews. Uptimeify gives you 50 monitors for 120 EUR flat, with every feature, unlimited sub-accounts and status pages included: you know at the start of the month what the month costs.
Your brand, not ours. Status pages, dashboard and automated PDF reports carry your logo, on your CNAME domain and your own SMTP, with no "powered by" anywhere. Pingdom offers no white-label for agencies: every report you forward sells your supplier's brand instead of yours.
Where Pingdom wins
Twenty years of measurement maturity. Pingdom has been measuring from over 100 locations worldwide since 2007. If you need simultaneous checks from Sydney, São Paulo and Tokyo, you get a network that took years to grow.
Root-cause analysis with real depth. Users have praised the failure analysis for years, and documented false positives are rare. When a page is slow, Pingdom tells you which request is holding it up, and you can act on that.
Real User Monitoring in-house. Pingdom delivers genuine RUM based on actual visitors, not just synthetic checks. For high-traffic operators who want performance broken down by country, browser and device, that is a category of its own.
Frequently asked questions
Pingdom belongs to SolarWinds, a company headquartered in the US. A DPA is available and the product is SOC 2 Type 1 audited, but there is no EU data residency as standard. In practice: you can run Pingdom in a GDPR-compliant way, but you have to justify and document the third-country transfer case by case. With clients in the public sector, healthcare or finance, that is often exactly where the conversation stops. Uptimeify hosts in Frankfurt and Nuremberg, uses EU nodes, and works without US sub-processors. The DPA is ready to sign.
Yes. You create your checks through the REST API or in the interface, and the format stays deliberately close to what you already know: URL, interval, expected status code, keyword. For larger portfolios we handle the import during onboarding: send us your export and you get the monitors back fully configured. Your historical Pingdom data stays with Pingdom, which is why running both in parallel through the trial pays off: you see straight away whether both systems measure the same thing.
In Germany. Core infrastructure runs in Frankfurt and Nuremberg, and check nodes sit in Germany, France, the Netherlands, the UK and Finland. We use no US sub-processors. A DPA under Art. 28 GDPR is ready to sign, and our status pages load neither cookies nor trackers. That is a fact about our infrastructure, not legal advice: the assessment for your specific case is yours or your data protection officer's to make.
Nothing. White-label is included in every plan, starting at 29 EUR per month. That covers your logo on the dashboard, status pages and automated PDF reports, your own domain via CNAME, your own SMTP sender, and no "powered by" anywhere. Unlimited sub-accounts cost nothing extra either: you pay by monitors, not by clients, seats or features.
The advertised entry point is 15 USD per month for Synthetic Starter. For 50 monitors at one-minute intervals you land on the Standard plan at around 50 USD, and if you also need Real User Monitoring, that adds from 10 USD, scaling with pageviews. Transaction checks push you into Advanced at 95 USD. White-label and sub-accounts are not available at any price. Uptimeify sits at 120 EUR flat for 50 monitors, with every feature, status pages, reports and unlimited client sub-accounts included. All figures as of July 2026, in each vendor's own currency.
Yes, and on a more modern foundation. Our synthetic checks run on Playwright, so you can walk through login, cart and checkout as a real browser flow instead of just polling a URL. On top of that come heartbeat and cron monitoring, SSL, DNS, DNSBL, domain expiry, ICMP, SSH, FTP, SMTP and IMAP/POP. At Pingdom, transaction checks sit in the higher tiers. With us they are in the plan.
