Model Context Protocol (MCP)

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard for connecting AI applications to external tools and data through one shared interface instead of one custom integration per system.

MCP separates client and server cleanly. The AI application talks JSON-RPC to an MCP server, which exposes three things: tools (callable functions), resources (readable data) and prompts (predefined workflows). Because the interface is standardized, any compliant client works with any compliant server. Locally that runs over stdio, remotely over Streamable HTTP. Uptimeify runs its own MCP server, so your AI client reads monitor status, incidents, DNS and TLS data the same way every other tool in your stack does.
