MTTR (Mean Time To Recovery)
MTTR (Mean Time To Recovery) is the average time it takes to restore a service after a failure begins.
MTTR measures how fast you recover, not how often you fail. It spans detection, response, and fix — so fast alerting and clear incident data directly shorten it. Lower MTTR means less downtime per incident.
It pairs with MTBF (how long between failures): together they describe both the frequency and the impact of outages.
